The mission of Palau Language
Commission is to preserve and maintain standardized use of Palauan language.
To do this it must establish rules determining
appropriate spelling of Palauan words and proper grammar and usage of Palauan
language. It also must determine rules
and procedures governing borrowed words and their adoptions to the Palauan
vocabulary.
It will also ensure that these rules
are flexible enough to evolve in response to the ever changing world around us
especially to the realities of cultural exchange, technological advancement, and
knowledge expansion.
